Google Wave is a hot topic at the moment, everyone is talking about it, I started using google wave a few weeks ago, it is actually closer to IM and cool with your friends or active colleagues. The first thing you notice is that you can see people chatting live, one big advantage over email is that when your friend sends you a message on wave, you can reply to each part separately and even edit the parts you want its give you a nice way to understand the conversation. Also, you can talk about sections of wave documents in real time, where people see what you are typing as it is typed, if you come to the conversation late, you can replay everything you've missed. It is so easy to add new participants to the wave or restrict parts of a wave to some of the participants.
Now the big question: Will wave kill email and IM?
Some say that google wave could seriously impact email and IM but as much as I love google wave I really don't think this is going to kill them, at least for a long time. (google wave may be the future, but not in real-time)
For anyone interested, I still have several google wave invitations left. If you would like one of those invitations, leave a comment below asking for one and I'll send you an invite.
